3.5 V6 Duratec/Ti-VCT Engine Problems and Reliability. Ford's 3.5L V6 engines have one serious common problem related to the water pump failure. We mentioned before, that the water pump on the 3.5 is internal/driven by the timing chain. This design has two major issues. First Generation Ford 3.5L EcoBoost. The First Generation 3.5 EcoBoost V6 engine framework was built around the Duratec 35, also known as the Cyclone V6 engine. Both engines have the same engine block and bore, and stroke dimension. The EcoBoost block is an all-aluminum lineup, an open-deck design with high-strength steel sleeves. Apr 20, 2020 at 4:40pm ET. By: Anthony Alaniz. Less than a decade ago, Ford introduced a slew of new powertrains for the F-150, including the twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. It gave the
Ford Vulcan engine. 2 overhead valves per cylinder, pushrods, rocker arms. The Ford Vulcan is a 3.0 L V6 engine designed and built by the Ford Motor Company. It debuted in 1986 in the newly launched Ford Taurus. Ford went on to install the Vulcan V6 in a variety of car, van, and pickup truck models until the 2008 model year, after which
Yes, there was a Duratec 37, but they decided to use the 3.5 for the flagship ecoboost. It was designed to be able to produce the power of a 6.0l with better economy. I guess they figured this was the platform they wanted to use in order to do so. The 3.5l Ecoboost is a really nice engine, by the way.
2015 - 2020 F150 - 3.5 flex fuel high miles - Looking at maybe buying a 2015 F150XL 4wd with almost 160k miles. It was a fleet vehicle so well maintained, I am just wondering generally how this engine does with high miles - is it most go 200k, or something like “my cousin has over 400k on his”? need to decide in the

The Ranger 5 speed, while a truck tranny, does not have truck ratios. Here they are: 3.72, 2.20, 1.50, 1.00. 0.79. I have heard that it is possible to put the innards of a Ranger 4.0 tranny in the Duratec box. That will give you 3.40, 2.05, 1.31, 1.00, 0.79. I have installed a 2.3 and M5R1 in a Sunbeam Alpine and the Ranger ratios are fine.

This simple pushrod design engine had two valves per cylinder and was dependable and generally trouble-free. Ford Vulcan 3.0 V6 engine was fuel-injected with a TFI ignition system. It was effortless to maintain. Not keeping the correct oil level and not changing the oil at 3000 to 4000 miles would cause premature engine wear.
Reliability 3/10 – There are a lot of serious problems on the 2010 Fusion which are expensive to fix. Avoid models from 2010 – 2014 since they have engine issues. We recommend 2015 – 2020, which are more reliable. Performance 8/10 – Performance is average from the 4-cylinder engine while both of the V6 choices offer good power for a 3.5L Ti-VCT Reliability First of all, with the timing camshaft applied, it enables the engine to have natural aspirations. Second, the firing system used is coil on plug (COP) with a sequential multi-port fuel injection fuel system. It works better with a cooling system of 14.25 liters or 3.76 gallons.

Copy pasta from a previous post: The 3.5s and 3.7s have an internal water pump driven by the timing chain. Water pump failure can lead to engine failure if not caught in time. depending on where you live, it can be a 3-4000$ repair, and the replacement of some timing components is recommended during repair. .
