Elrond tells him that "she wanted to protect her child." She thought in Rivendell, he "would be safe." This confirms that Aragorn was visiting his mother’s grave.
I've actually watched the movies through before , just never the extended editions. I'm sure the movies don't cut off at the same at as the book volumes , but the movies won't spoil much for me. I'm using the movies as kind of a benchmark for completing 21 hours of audiobook haha
